Art Marketing Tip of the Day #1

Buyers like to feel connected to the artist, not just the artwork. If you have a Facebook or blog, it is a good idea to share studio pics and photos of yourself too.

Case in point: Super Future Kid, painter http://www.facebook.com/SuperFutureKid

SFK is always posting photos of her new works in progress, which builds up some anticipation and interest from her buyers before she has even finished the work! They also post on her photos, maybe ask questions about technique or give feedback. Maybe this tip is a bit trite or obvious, but some artists feel they have to be too rigid and serious; you can have fun and engage with your audience!
